How does Fat – Magnet Work?

The digestive enzyme lipase breaks fat droplets into small fatty acids, which are then absorbed, transported to different parts of the body and re-assembled within the body to form fat.

Fat-Magnet becomes positively charged in your digestive system and binds to the negatively charged fat droplets. This forms an insoluble gel which cannot be digested by lipase and the gel is eventually passed out from your body.

1. Fat – Binding Capacity

An in vitro test was conducted to examine fat-binding capacity of both Fat – Magnet and an European-brand chitosan. Fat – Magnet exhibited outstanding fat-binding capacity compared to normal cellulose (control) and European-brand Chitosan.

2. Total Cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol Reduction

A clinical study involving 90 female volunteers (age 34–70) with confirmed mild to moderate hypercholesterolemia were conducted. They were randomly assigned to receive Fat – Magnet (1.2 g per day) or placebo in a double-blind manner. Serum lipids, body weight and adverse events were assessed at baseline and after 28 and 56 days of treatment. Fat – Magnet significantly reduced total cholesterol compared to placebo.

In a subgroup of subjects with over 60 years of age, Fat – Magnet group significantly reduced total and LDL cholesterol compared with placebo. No serious events were reported.
